We were up very early to watch the arrival in Ua Huka as we were told it was not to be missed. Captain Vatea and his crew did an outstanding job entering the small bay and positioning the Ship for Departure. It was by far the best and most impressive arrival of the voyage. On the island of Ua Huka, wild Horses were brought from Chile in 1856.Today they outnumber the inhabitants. The island is also known for wood carving as well as engraved coconut shells. Upon reaching the shores of Ua Huka, our Driver for the Day took us to the island's city Hall garden to visit the small museum of Vaiapee which houses replicas of Marquesan Art. The villagers also greeted us with beautiful traditional songs.
